Discovering Palmarola
Palmarola is a hidden gem of the Mediterranean, located about 10 km from Ponza from which it can be easily reached by boat in about 40 minutes. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful island in the Pontine archipelago, thanks to its impressive cliffs, caves and wonderful hidden beaches.
Palmarola is almost uninhabited, a genuine corner of paradise still unspoiled, ideal for a trip away from mass tourism.
Highlights include the unique rock formations, such as the Faraglioni di Mezzogiorno, and the many caves that dot the coast, including the famous Grotta del Bue Marino.
Finally, Palmarola is also known as a place of geological interest because of the presence of the rare Obsidian, a black volcanic glass found in some of its rock walls.
