Moby Fantasy Ferry Video Tour. It was inaugurated in the Port of Isola Bianca in Olbia Onorato Group’s Giant Ferry, the Moby Fantasy a.k.a. the world’s largest ferry. It is a ‘vessel of more than 70000 tons in tonnage as long as 237 meters long and 32 meters wide, capable of loading on board more than 1300 cars and 300 semi-trailers (basically a linear strip of vehicles with a total length of 3800 meters. It can carry more than 3,000 passengers and has 441 staterooms, 18 exclusive suites, 11 suites for passengers with reduced mobility, 46 cabins with pet access, and 403 very comfortable reclining seats.
Aboard the ferry feels like being in the center of a city
Traveling on the Moby Fantasy is an absolutely out-of-the-ordinary experience. Walking on the bridges, one encounters various businesses that are always open, stores, indoor and outdoor bars, bistros, places that serve cocktails, and various restaurants for all tastes. Still on board are retailers of typical products such as charcuterie delicatessens, artisan bakeries, and even a workshop that makes fresh pasta.
As soon as you board the Moby Fantasy, you are welcomed into a very modern reception area that is finely furnished with very comfortable armchairs and large information monitors that broadcast images from other rooms and explain to travelers how to get around on board.
The first thing that strikes one when entering such an impressive and modern ship is the beauty of the two promenades that extend on either side of the Moby Fantasy From bow to stern. Very bright finely furnished classy rooms in which to spend time while traveling in total relaxation and style admiring the sea from the very large windows and comfortably seated on elegant blue armchairs. The predominant colors in the two promenades are, of course being in the Moby house, white and light blue with cream trim.
Just outside one of the two promenades is the outdoor bar with its more than 100 tables and seating, a great place to enjoy a crossing during the summertime. The bar offers the possibility of consuming salads, sandwiches, drinks and even the possibility (tolerance) of smoking a cigarette from the comfort of your seat, which is becoming increasingly rare on ferries.
Lunch and dinner at Mascalzone Latino
Mascalzone Latino is one of the best a la carte restaurants aboard the Moby Fantasy. It is a very cozy place, with an open kitchen also equipped with self-service microwaves for the needs of passengers consuming food brought in from elsewhere, while a well-stocked menu is available for those who want to taste traditional Italian dishes. The Latin Rascal can seat 447 people some of them near the windows from which to enjoy the view during lunch. Highly recommended.
There is also the Sports Bar!
There are five bars aboard this giant ferry including the legendary Sports Bar, the largest room on the ship, which can seat a thousand people. The Moby Fantasy’s Sports Bar consists of a large central counter from which to order coffee, drinks, snacks, and anything else you may want when you go to the bar, surrounded by beautiful 723 seats including armchairs, sofas, and chairs. Definitely one of the busiest hangouts on the ferry.
